The “FlyEase” variation of Nike’s Metcon 8 men’s cross-training shoe features a unique, flexible heel that allows you to step into the shoe without using your hands; the heel collapses when you step in, then snaps back into place to secure the foot. Because it’s part of the Metcon 8 series, the rest of the FlyEase’s specs are similarly engineered to the demands of championship athletes. This includes a lighter upper with improved airflow, React foam for optimal comfort and cushioning, grooves in the sole to let your forefoot bend naturally, and lock-down lace tabs to prevent untying during high-intensity training. The shoe’s wide flexible heel also has an inner plate that distributes weight from edge to edge for added stability, while rubber wraps along the arch offer better traction on rope climbs. Lightweight mesh and strategically textured overlays help keep your feet cool without sacrificing durability, and flywire cables integrate with the laces to secure the midfoot.
